A Large Coiled Basket with Diamond Bands

A traditional basket made by a St'at'imc (Lillooet) weaver, held by the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver. The St'at'imc are an Interior Salish nation neighbouring the Secwepemc to the west, and their coiled cedar-root baskets were widely traded and admired across the plateau. The museum did not record the name of the weaver.
