Members of the St'at'imc (Lillooet) Nation photographed in 1865 by the Italian-born photographer Charles Gentile, one of the earliest photographic records of an Interior Salish community. The St'at'imc are neighbours and relatives of the Secwepemc within the Interior Salish family. Photographs from this decade preserve clothing, gathering places and faces from the first years of the colonial period in British Columbia.
