Traditional Nlaka'pamux (Thompson) clothing displayed in the American Museum of Natural History in New York, whose Thompson collections were assembled around 1900 during the Jesup North Pacific Expedition with the help of James Teit and Nlaka'pamux community members. Plateau dress clothing of hide with fringe, quill and bead decoration was shared in style across the Interior Salish nations, including the Secwepemc. The Nlaka'pamux are the Secwepemc's Interior Salish neighbours to the south.
