Shuswap (secwepemctsín) is a northern Interior Salish language traditionally spoken by the Secwépemc or Shuswap people of British Columbia. It is an endangered language, primarily used in the Central and Southern Interior of British Columbia, between the Fraser River and the Rocky Mountains.
According to the First Peoples' Cultural Council, approximately 200 people spoke it fluently as a first language, with an additional roughly 1,190 semi-speakers documented in 2014. Shuswap is the northernmost of the Interior Salish languages.
